Upcoming Second Stage (Caravan Players) Productions
Summer / Fall 2012
You Don’t Have to be Jewish – A Comedy Variety Show
Join the Caravan Players for a series of comedic skits poking fun at the Jewish way of life in the United States. It was written by a Jewish man named Bob Booker, who grew up in Brooklyn. Some of its original players included Lou Jacobi; Jack Gilford; and Nancy Walker. You’ll Laugh your head off, and maybe some limbs too.
Fall / Winter 2012
Once Upon a Midnight Dreary
Listen to the chilling, poetic words of the horror master, Edgar Allan Poe. A series of readings will be narrated and performed, inclding some of Poe’s classic short stories, such as A Tell Tale Heart; The Pit and the Pendulum; and The Cask of Amontillado, mixed in with some of his great poems.
Winter / Spring 2012 and 2013
The Game’s Afoot
Hearken back to the days of old time radio. A simulated radio show dedicated to a murder mystery will be presented (title to be determined). Sound effects will highlight this vocal performance. Audiences will be asked to be detectives in this whodunit in the style of Agatha Christie.
Spring / Summer 2013
Broadway Through the War Years and Beyond
A salute to Broadway music of the 1940’s; 1950’s and beyond; highlighted by Irving Berlin; Cole Porter; Frank Loesser; and Rogers and Hammerstein. Brief comedy bits will be thrown in, along with short historical footnotes about the music and the time period.
Please note: All Second Stage Productions (Caravan Players) are produced by Charles L. Bandler and Eric Young; and directed by Eric Young, unless otherwise noted. A full production schedule of each upcoming show, complete with venue and cast information, will be available on this page one month prior to the opening date of that particular show. For example, You Don’t Have to be Jewish is on the 2012 Second Stage Production Calendar for Summer and Fall, and is tentatively scheduled to open in June 2012.
